ATLANTA · YAOUNDÉ
OUR STORY
A name that carries a legacy.
1/10
Founded in 2009, TCHOUAFFÉ ARCHITECTS grew from a one-person studio into an international, multidisciplinary practice serving public and private clients. The firm’s name honors Jean-Baptiste Tchouaffé, the late father of founder Michael Tchouaffé, and the values he passed on: character, hard work, and exceptional results.
Today, our Atlanta and Yaoundé studios combine local responsiveness with an international perspective, working across project types and scales while never losing sight of the people and communities our work serves.
OUR VISION
To be the “go-to” firm that helps you Develop, Design, and Deliver Your World of Projects.
You and us, together. Every project is a unique opportunity to create lasting relationships with our clients and partners.
OUR MISSION
To positively impact lives through the development, architecture, and management of the built environment.
OUR GOAL
To be your trusted partner throughout the entire project development, design, and construction process.
Through open communication, collaboration, and responsive problem-solving, we work to keep every project moving forward from vision to completion.
Our clients’ satisfaction is the measure of our success.
ATLANTA STUDIO
Historic shell.
Contemporary practice.
Within downtown Atlanta’s historic Hurt Building, an existing 12th-floor suite was reconfigured for contemporary practice while respecting the character of the original shell. Glass partitions, new spatial organization and a restrained material palette use the contrast between old and new to create a clear architectural identity and an open, efficient workplace.
As operations expanded domestically and internationally, the firm needed a dedicated headquarters. In 2023, Tchouaffé Architects relocated to the Hurt Building and transformed the existing office through its own design, creating a new home for the practice and a base for serving clients across the United States and abroad.

Small footprint.
Clear identity.
The Tchouaffé Cameroon office is conceived as an exercise in precision and restraint. Adaptive reuse transforms a compact, 300-square-foot suite within the SAPA Business Center into a contemporary workplace for focused work and collaboration.
Material contrast, light and spatial sequencing expand the perceived volume of the existing shell. The project demonstrates how a minimal intervention can establish a distinct architectural identity while making every square foot work harder.
Planning for the Cameroon studio began in 2023 as the international team expanded and Jobain Happeness Ntfu and Fabrice Nguepdjouo joined the practice. In 2024, the firm adapted and occupied the Yaoundé office, beginning regional operations as Tchouaffé Architects SARL.
