PROJECT OVERVIEW

A workplace transformed from the inside out.

JW Affinity IT is a full-service technology solutions provider based in Smyrna, Georgia. Tchouaffé Architects renovated approximately 4,980 square feet of the company’s existing building, reshaping both the workplace and its public arrival.

The new plan creates a modern conference room and workspace enclosed with glass walls and privacy partitions, a welcoming lounge and lobby with a guest workstation, and a contemporary breakroom for employees and visitors. Together, the spaces support focus, collaboration and a more polished client experience.

DESIGN CHALLENGE

Reframe both the workplace and its street presence.

Open + connected

A new identity

The reorganized floor plan replaces dark, enclosed rooms with glass-fronted work areas, collaborative settings and a clear circulation path. Privacy partitions balance visual connection with the focused work required by an IT practice.

A new roof form and façade framing wrap the existing entrance and columns, creating a distinct contemporary gateway. Inside, exposed building systems, warm wood elements and restrained color carry that renewed identity through the workplace.

BEFORE CONSTRUCTION

An existing building ready for a clearer purpose.

The original brick entrance and compartmentalized interior provided the foundation for the renovation. The design retained the useful structure while reconsidering how the building should welcome clients, connect employees and support everyday work.

DURING CONSTRUCTION

The transformation takes shape.

Interior demolition opened the former layout for new framing, glass partitions and coordinated building systems. At the exterior, new structural framing established the roof form and strong horizontal profile of the completed entrance.
